Good times and good connections
This previous week I was luckily able to attend a business symposium event to help grow my connections. This event was very helpful for me for multiple reasons: First, it allowed me to show off my resume as it was and receive real-time feedback on what improvements I could be making on it from professionals in the field that I am interested in. The number one piece of advice that I received was that I should mention my pool care business on my resume under job experience, I also noticed that my having a business really impressed many of the people that I talked to, I'll have to keep that in mind going forward with my future interviews. One thing that wishes had happened before the symposium would be knowing that I had already been accepted into the Texas A&M business school, I feel as though that information would be very useful, especially in impressing some of the wonderful people that I got to talk to since it would show that I already have strong plans for the future and a good education coming up as well. After this, I am also looking to contact some of the business people that I was able to meet and hopefully, schedule some interviews with them and learn more about what their life and business is like.
